Overview
NUJS is a Public Law School and a National University, offering courses such as BA-LLB (Hons), BSc-LLB(Hons), LLM (Corporate and Commercial Law), M Phil, PhD and LLD.
The University was notified under Clause (f) of Section 2 of the UGC Act, 1956 in August 2004 and has been granted permanent affiliation by the Bar Council of India in July 2005. It is one of the autonomous law schools in India. The NUJS, Kolkata, along with the GNLU and NLSIU, Bengaluru, continuous to be the only three National Law Schools which have the honourable “Chief Justice of India” as the Chancellor.

Admissions
WBNUJS offers a five-year integrated B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) program. Eligibility requires completion of 10+2 or equivalent with at least 45% marks (40% for SC/ST candidates). The university also offers a one-year LL.M. program, with admission criteria including an LL.B. degree with a minimum of 55% marks (50% for SC/ST) and CLAT PG scores.
